Pop Beauty's Bright Delight Eyeshadow Palette

Another bit of makeup/life philosophy:
Life is finite.  Every time that you settle for wearing bland makeup is one less time that you'll have a chance to try wearing something interesting.

With that being said, in my ongoing research for UD Electric Palette dupes / the perfect bright eyeshadow palettes, I've been playing with my newest acquisition -- Pop Beauty's Bright Delight palette.

I was expecting vibrant colors along the lines of Sleek's Acid palette (which I will be posting about soon), and I wasn't disappointed there.  What I wasn't expecting was how intensely pigmented these eyeshadows were when they went on -- I started packing color onto my eyelid and was literally taken aback by the immediate saturation result!  When it was time to blend, Pop Beauty's palette surprised me again -- these blend like a dream!

I'm looking forward to further adventures with Bright Delight in the near future.  :)

Here are a couple of looks I've made with the Bright Delight palette so far:

Looks from BH Cosmetics Take Me to Brazil Palette

The Take Me to Brazil Palette
I'm working my way towards an article on the best budget bright / neon eyeshadow palettes.

Here's a sneak peak -- a few looks I've created so far with BH Cosmetics' "Take Me to Brazil" palette, which retails on the company's website for $20.00, but seems to be perpetually on sale for $11.00.  :)

Jesse's Girl Makeup Mini-Haul

I purchased four items from Jesse's Girl's website that arrived today - as pictured above, Wicked Glow Stix lip gloss, eyeshadow transformer (which turns eyeshadow into eyeliner), tattoo liner, and liquid eyeliner (a dupe for Kat Von D's Trooper).

I'm excited about trying these out and will be posting a video to my YouTube channel giving details on these products as soon as my video camera arrives (it's on its way!)

Eyeshadow Foiling Rules!

My latest obsession is with eyeshadow foiling.
Please excuse my red eyes.  I have allergies.  :(

Eyeshadow foiling is a process that bumps up the drama level on any eyeshadow, increasing its pigmentation and giving it a metallic finish.  Here's my full article on how to do it and and why you really need foiling in your life!
These eyeshadows lacked pigmentation before they were foiled.

Introduction: My Makeup Philosophy

I perceive makeup as modern warpaint; it transforms the wearer, bestowing strength, confidence, and fearlessness.  Is it a mask?  Of course, but what is wrong with that?  Many warriors past wore masks into battle.
Announce yourself.

The woman looking back from the makeup mirror -- she is a modern day barbarian.
Her makeup isn't about glamour; it's about empowerment.
Like a victorious warrior smearing her face in the blood of her kill,
she lifts her head to the heavens and cries,
"See me!  I am here!"

Announce yourself.

Life is too short to hide behind neutral eyeshadow.  Proclaim yourself -- wear your warpaint boldly.
